i’d love to say i was there…
i’d love to say i recorded it…

alas all i can say is that my experience of making house music involved getting a drum sample and looping it ad infinitum playing around with the flanger, smoking a wee bit too much of the how’s yer father and falling asleep on the studio’s sofa… what i had in my mind was something deep and dark and brooding and so highly focussed on the minutest of details that it crawled under your skin and simply obliged you to get into the incessantly driven bass… unfortunatley i awoke to realise that my masterpiece was little more than a loop… a couple more efforts later and with much the same results i happily ticked off another possible career, that of deep house producer of great repute…

fortunately that left space for matt edwards and he has had no difficulty filling the post…

deep, raw, hypnotic other worldly sounds, scratches, kicks and rumbles…
relentless, minimal and extraordinarily detailed… he rocks…

a 40 minute viewing which doesn’t let up… just re-watching it again now after a month of so debating whether to put it up and i find myself pulled in once again… compelling, forceful and yet without ramming it down your throat… the situation seems half sick joke, half farce and yet it’s still goes on… day by day… reported or not…

without stepping out of line alan braxe and fred falke together and matt edwards (radioslave himself) have been the producers of the moment this last year or so…

alan braxe and fred falke i think single handedly came up with the soundtrack to the terrifying concept of nu-rave… as if it wasn’t bad enough losing one generation to glow sticks and poppers apparently there’s a second queueing up to have their fifteen minutes of oblivion… don’t do it kids…

matt edwards simply finds the deepest grooves possible and mines them just a little bit deeper with a love of miniature clicks, kicks and fizzes… this one is either taken from a scratched record or more likely than not it’s mister edwards syncopating away to his hearts content…

both production teams regularly hit the nail on the head with a precision of production and an inherent sense of when and how it works that if written in manuals would leave us leafing through the index…

but here is simply written in groove…
